Sextant: Visualizing Time-Evolving Linked Geospatial Data

[ Demos | Download | Support | About | License ]

Sextant is a web-based system for the visualization and exploration of time-evolving linked geospatial data and the creation, sharing, and collaborative editing of `temporally-enriched' thematic maps which are produced by combining different sources of such data and other geospatial information available in standard OGC file formats (e.g., KML).

We have used SexTant in applications such as emergency response and land cover evolution (see the Demos section below). So, if you don't like the Google Crisis Response project, you can always use our tool. :)

You can download the latest version of Sextant using one of the following links. More information about building and running Sextant can be found at the README file.

Version v1.0-beta of Sextant was based on Apache Ant. For keeping our repository small in size, we have opted not to distribute the dependencies of Sextant, which are packaged as .jar files, in the above code repository. If you like to use this version, you may download the file sextant-v1.0-beta-with-libs.tar.gz which comes with all of Sextant's .jar dependencies.

Mailing list

You can use the mailing list of the geospatial RDF store Strabon, for questions/suggestions/complaints you might have about Sextant.
